Build Your Base, Trust Your Magic
Lower body strength, playful energy, and a reminder that authenticity is part of your super power
This week’s practice is for the days when life feels hard, and also for the days when things are actually fine but you still need to remind yourself who you are.
Because strength is not only about pushing through struggle.
Strength is also showing up when you could have talked yourself out of it.
Strength is choosing to keep going, to keep trying, to keep becoming.
Not because everything is perfect, but because there is something inside you that knows you can.
Today’s class is playful, grounding, and strong. We are working into the lower body to build a solid base, because having a strong foundation matters. In the body, yes. But also in the way we move through life.
Your legs carry you.
Your hips stabilize you.
Your base supports everything above it.
And the same goes for the deeper parts of you. Your values, your voice, your truth, your personality, your weird little spark. That is your base too.
In this class, I let more of my personality come through, because the truth is, that is part of the practice too. Not hiding. Not performing. Not trying to be more polished, more quiet, more acceptable. Just showing up as you are.
There is real strength in that.
Authenticity is not softness without power. It is power without pretending.
It is being honest in your body. Honest in your energy. Honest in the way you take up space.
Your secret sauce has never been fitting into someone else’s mold.
It has always been your ability to be fully yourself and still rise.
So this practice is about building strength from the ground up, while also remembering that your uniqueness is not something to tone down. It is something to trust.
Let this be the reminder:
you can be strong and playful
grounded and expressive
powerful and fully yourself
That is not too much.
That is the magic.
Supporting your body in your 40s is not about chasing perfection. It is about giving your body the basics it needs to feel stronger, steadier, and more supported through all the shifts that can come with this season of life.
These are some of the most common supplements women over 40 may want to learn more about for bone health, muscle support, energy, recovery, and overall wellness. Not every body needs the same thing, and supplements are not one size fits all, but this can be a helpful place to start the conversation.
Think of this as support, not pressure. Small things done consistently can make a big difference over time.
Important note: always check with your doctor, pharmacist, or a qualified healthcare professional before starting new supplements, especially if you take medications or have underlying health conditions.
Where in my life would I feel stronger if I stopped trying to be more acceptable and started being more fully myself?
Thank you for practicing with me and for letting this space be one where strength does not mean perfection. It means presence, honesty, and showing up as you are.
I hope this class reminds you that your power is not separate from your personality. It lives inside it. Your joy, your quirks, your fire, your resilience, your truth. That is the good stuff.
Keep building your base.
Keep trusting your voice.
Keep being exactly the kind of strong that only you can be.

As a 59 year old judoka and fighter, I agree on the importance of base. This was a great piece!
